CEC offers solar water heating systems

As part of our ongoing commitment to provide our members access to renewable energy, Citizens Energy Cooperative is offering residential solar thermal systems to fulfil domestic water heating and space heating needs. Home or business owning members have the option of choosing from one of two units; a roof mounted solar thermal collector or a ground mounted solar thermal collector.  Each system is complete with a photovoltaic power supply, pump and piping, heat exchanger and hot water storage tank. This system is fully functional and will create energy and reduce pollution from the first day of its installation.

 Member’s homes or businesses must have sufficient south facing roof space or an area in their yard to accommodate the solar collector and associated piping. The space should be free of shading or obstruction.

What do I get for my money?

A high quality, completely functioning solar hot water system installed on your home or business. This system comes with the premier water storage tank in the industry. Each installation is a little different, but on average you can expect that your solar hot water system will contribute from 35% to 75% of the energy consumed by your present hot water system.  If it is a space heating system it can contribute 30% to 70% of your space heating needs.
